Ocean Choice International Inc. (OCI), a member of the Penney Group, was formed in 2000 as the parent company for a number of operating companies already existing in the Newfoundland fishing industry. The principals of the company have many years of experience in seafood processing and international marketing and started OCI as the vehicle to integrate the various operating companies and to position the company for future growth.
While headquartered in historic Newfoundland and Labrador, OCI has a strong physical presence in Atlantic Canada, especially in Prince Edward Island with Ocean Choice PEI. Through this and other subsidiaries, OCI manages numerous processing plants, two factory freezer vessels and is engaged in several Canadian and International partnerships.
As a diverse company, we are major processors of Snow Crab, Lobster, Northern Shrimp, Pelagics, Cod, Redfish, Turbot and Mussels. In order to ensure a year round supply for our customers, we engage in the procurement of raw material and finished product in international markets. We are
 continually reviewing new opportunities to expand our base through new products and new markets.
